GROWTH STRATEGY IN A DAY
WORKSHOP

Strategy is a set of interrelated and powerful choices that positions the organization to win.
— Roger Martin

WHY GROWTH STRATEGY?

Defining your strategy requires you to answer 5 key questions:

  1. What are our goals and aspirations?

    • What is our guiding purpose?

    • What are our measurable objectives?

  2. Where will we play to achieve our goals and aspirations?

    • Where will we compete? which geographies product categories, customer segments, channels?

    • Will we be narrow or broad?

  3. How will we win where we have chosen to play?

    • With what value proposition?

    • With what competitive advantage?

    • With what configuration of activities?

  4. What capabilities are required to win?

    • What specific capabilities must be in place?

    • In what configuration

  5. What managements systems are required to stay on track?

    • What systems, skills and structures are required to support the capabilities?

THE WORKSHOP

Prior to this workshop, key stakeholder interviews will be conducted to understand the current set of choices the enterprise is making and hopes to make.

During the 1-day workshop, attendees will review and discuss the current set of strategic choices, and will refine future choices that provide the greatest leverage and strategic advantage.

Together, the team will answer the 5 key questions:

  1. What are our goals and aspirations?

  2. Where will we play to achieve our goals and aspirations?

  3. How will we win where we have chosen to play?

  4. What capabilities are required to win?

  5. What managements systems are required to stay on track?

Importantly, the team will discuss capabilities required to win in chosen markets, and will prioritize these choices against available resources and timing requirements.
